Do you remember I visited the Penang Butterfly Farm in December 2010? I have already written 5 posts about the beautiful butterflies there. Hey, I'm not done yet!
Well, this 6th post is about The Butterfly Swing that is filled with LOVE; love among the romancing butterflies and also love written all over a wild vine!

Inside the Penang Butterfly Farm, there is a corner I like to call 'The Butterfly Swing'.
Here almost every visitor would stop to pose and take a photo.
It even attracted the most number of butterflies!

Even the leaves are love-shaped.

Yes, I have this plant in my garden.
It is food for the butterflies, a delight for my eyes.
It is also a Malaysian wildflower in our rural landscape.

The butterflies among the flowers are really gorgeous. It wouldn't matter if you post these another 6 times. I would still admire them.

Beautiful photos! There's something special about butterflies. Maybe because you knew how short their life-span is. They are really beautiful colourful creatures. I do not know their species or the common names they are called, I just know how to admire their beauty! :)

ReplyDeleteWow, i am a bit late here! If i will reach Penang i will go to that Butterfly Farm too as i did in KL. We have the same butterflies here, of course we have same climate and vegetation. That first one is the Idea leuconoe, it is so big, remember my 'kiasu' post with lots of butterflies converging in a space, that is that butterfly. Those colored orange top with zigzag colors under is Cethosia biblis, they are beautiful. The black am not sure now, forget the name. But the flower we call 'cadena de amor' or chain of love, Antigonon sp. forgot species again. haha!

ReplyDeleteI do not know the names of the butterflies nor many for that matter. I know the ones I have here that I see all the time but those don't help. Sorry. I love to watch them though- we don't have as many right now as we typically do due to the lack of water we are experiencing right now which is sad. I put out water for the butterflies, bees, dragon flies and whatever else is roaming around that I don't know about but hope it finds the water. We have all kinds of beetles, frogs, praying mantis, walking sticks etc... but I haven't seen much of anything as of late other than the lizards, bees, frogs and a few butterflies here and there. Great photos though- thanks for sharing- I love to look at the butterflies- such beautiful colors, configurations and designs.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few of these butterflies and know a few names. The one at the top is sometimes called a Paper Kite. The one you have the most photos of is a Lacewing of some sort. The Orange and white one is a Banded Orange.
