Very pretty. I really like the two tone of that.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
Cher, happy morning!
ReplyDeleteThis B&H Gold is more intense - darker and brighter tone of yellow/orange and pink while B&H is more subdue. (IMO)
Can I see Dunhill or State Express 555 anywhere?
ReplyDeleteLooking at your golden yellow roses makes me smile while in the middle of a storm. Keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteWow what gorgeous blooms! I love the deep yellow with orange highlights. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely colors. I wonder if the cigarette maker Benson & Hedges developed these :)
ReplyDeleteRainfield, I haven't seen any other ciggarette roses yet, but secret roses maybe :>)
ReplyDeleteHardinera, roses are certainly a sight to behold.
Lona, sometimes this rose has a tinge of pink at the edges too.
Solitude Rising, this rose was developed Dr. Samuel McGredy IV, a world reknown rose breeder from Northern Ireland who later moved his operations and settled down in New Zealand. The rose was introduced in 1979 as Benson and Hedges Gold ®. This is a bushy compact Patio Rose.
I wonder why was it named after a cigarette company?
As I know, during those days, big cigarette companies sponsored many sports and other events.
I would love to see the real gold of B&H !
ReplyDeleteOooops thought Bananaz got a challenge leaving comments which got mixed up with your older post. tQ for your flowers haha. Bananaz quit B&H coz of my daughter who only few months old then. Lovely golden yellow roses.
ReplyDeleteKeats, this rose was photograped at the Honey Bee World Trade exhibition area. It was indeed a valuable experience for me, being able to see it for real.
ReplyDeleteBananaz, a cigarette company inspired a special rose. Your precious baby inspired you to make a bold step to quit smoking. This is good for Mango too!
Very luscious roses! I am in awe of that color. Reminds me of orange juice and strawberries.
ReplyDeleteYes,yes, Rosey. Orange juice and strawberries - that's what I think too now!
ReplyDeleteIt is strange that Sam McGredy named it after a fag company when he is in fact a health concious person. I wonder if anyone knows why?
So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis rose is a beauty! The shading of the gold colour is stunning.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous rose! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe colour is simply gorgeous! my neighbour used to have an orange rose which I used to photograph each time it bloom, unfortunately the plant died.
ReplyDeleteLovely roses Autumn Belle. You've captured their images exquisitely!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful roses!
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the most beautiful gold roses I have ever seen. I love the darker outline.
ReplyDeleteMillie, Lavender Cottage, Beth, Jama, Carolyn, Malar, Sage Butterfly. I'm so glad you appreciate the beauty of this rose. Surprisingly, I can't seem to find a mention about this cultivar while I was browsing through some books about roses at the bookshop.
