Hibiscus mutabilis - A single flower variety that doesn't change colour

Hibiscus mutabilis flowers usually open white in the morning and changes colour to pink as the day gets warmer in the late afternoon. However, this variety with single flowers that is currently grown at the Secret Garden of 1-Utama does not change colour but stays the same the whole day.

“Hibiscus mutabilis - Single Flowers”, a copyrighted post, was written for My Nice Garden blog by Autumn Belle @

Scientific name: Hibiscus mutabilis
Family: Malvaceae
Origin: China
Common names: Confederate Rose, Changeable Rose, cotton Rose, Chinese Rose
Photographs taken at: The rooftop Secret Garden of 1-Utama

The single flowers open pink instead of white.

This is also my entry for Today's Flowers #158, the link is here.

  11. I came via Blotanical, i wonder if this is really your last post as it is already 6 Sept and this is posted 28 Aug. I love its colors however the flowers are so small compared to the whole plants and leaves, haven't seen them here yet.

  12. At first I thought this hibiscus looks like the Rose of Sharon.

Andrea, this is certainly not my latest post as at now. The latest post is about Hari Raya and Independence Day of Malaysia. I have gone to my plot in Blotanical and 'ping'it. See how it goes. Thanks for informing me!
