Skywatch from the Rooftop
I saw this unusual arrangement of hibiscus flowers at the rooftop Secret Garden of 1-Utama last month. It looks like they are parading in an arch. At that time, there were dark nimbus clouds above, as though it was going to rain soon. What I like most about the hibiscus is the unique way in which the stigma and stamens are beautifull arranged along the style. In the photo above, a light breeze had caused them to sway in different directions.
I often have this feeling of being on 'Top of the World' when I am here at the rooftop. At other times, I have a weird feeling - Can you imagine there are traffic jams and people busy working, shopping, dining or watching movies below my feet ?

That's a beautiful capture! I've recently grown this and it flowered for the first time yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYou are on 'Top of the World' and Bananaz is in Cloud 9 watching the pretty national flowers in a row. tQ
ReplyDeleteThose are stunning! Love your tropical flowers!!!
ReplyDeleteI also love those stunning hibiscus blooms. I'm sure the entire garden is a dream!
ReplyDeleteLove the effect in this shot. It looks almost like the arching branch has beautiful little hanging chandeliers suspended from it.
ReplyDeletethe sky will be different in a few hours, its present perfection and completeness....... Happy TGIF! Hoping you can visit my skywatch post.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I can imagine a rooftop garden would be quite romantic. And very soothing, being away from the business of those below.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a beautiful arrangement!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
The rooftop garden seems like a wonderful retreat -- and it's hard to beat that combination of hibiscus and dramatic sky. -Jean
ReplyDeleteThat is really an unusual arrangement as they flowered at the same time like that, in a row! Magnificent haven't seen one like that! What time did you post here in Skywatch? I've opened it last night but it's not yet on, so waited till office now, and i am again at the tail end. I can't seem to post there earlier than most.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really beautiful arrangement . The contrast of colours is also nice.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning my dear frens!
ReplyDeleteIf you visit Malaysia, do visit this garden. You can see hundreds of tropical flowers in one place. Next, you can shop till you drop, view nature and Kuala Lumpur's skyline from above and then go back to relax, catch up on beauty sleep at your hotel suites. Later you can even go to the gym or go swimming. Remember to try our many choices of Malaysian food.
Bananaz, the colour of this hibiscus is pale orange on the outside and dark red in the centre. You can bring DW MANGO here. Dr. Ng is growing a few types of ornamental banana and a dwarf banana but no mango tree here.
Andrea, I link in to skywatch early this morning.
It make a lovely arch for wedding. I must visit OU rooftop garden if we ever come back. Since that is the only shopping complex we go since it is close to my parents home.

ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent shot! The hibiscus flowers look very nice with the grayish sky on the background. The beauty of nature is indeed priceless when captured.
ReplyDeleteOh what a unique display of hibiscus -so pretty, I also love that shade -so sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteMy hibiscus has never flower this much at a time, and this is on the same stem!
ReplyDeleteI'd choose to spend day admiring the garden than shopping down there :)

ReplyDeleteexcellent shot.
Great floral arrangement of our National flowers against the cloudy sky!
ReplyDeleteThat would be something, to see that rooftop garden...I LOVE hibiscus...but I only have one tropical...all the rest of mine have to be hardy...to last through our cold winters. I love how they are arching through the sky.
