The day in Putrajaya is cloudy and hazy, hence the lighting is not very good. One need not worry about meals and washroom facilities. Meals-on-wheels like Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Kenny Rogers Roosters, burger stalls and beverages are available at the venue.
The tall building in the background with the pointed tip is Millennium Monument (Monumen Alaf Baru). It is quite similar in appearance to the Washington Monument in Washington DC. The Millennium Monument was built to commemorate the important milestones in our nation's history.

The 5th Putrajaya Flower and Garden Festival (Putrajaya Floria 2012) was launched by HRH Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah on the morning of 30th June 2012.

Close-up of a picturesque bougainvillea framed by white and red salvia blooms.
Hanging from the ceiling are rows upon rows of Dancing Lady Orchids (Oncidium).
On the ground below are a mixture of bougainvilleas, caladiums and orchids to project a harmony of colours and pleasing aesthetics in a tropical garden theme.
As usual, the gorgeous Moth Orchids like this Phalaenopsis 'Dtps.I-Hsin Waltz' are among the show stealers.
The Temperate Garden is a popular destination for the ladies and photography enthusiasts.
Just like real!
I mean the background scenery of rolling green hills, blue mountains and an English cottage.
But can you differentiate the real from the unreal?
Can you spot the bougainvillea plants among the sea of colourful blooms?

I wonder if the kids here are looking for fishes?
The potted plants below look like those of Tulip Gentian (Eustoma gandiflorum).
Hi Ms Belle! Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures. Very captivating indeed. Simply beautiful especially the orchids. And a hanging one? The English cottage sure look 'real'. I'm impressed with the vertical garden. Where are the roses?
ReplyDeleteThere are roses at the Honey Bee booth but the star attraction this year is Bougainvillea.
DeleteAB..entah2 semalam kita berselisih...
ReplyDeleteYa, semalam saya di sana! Sangat seronok menyaksikan persembahan Magic of the Night.
DeleteHermoso paseo por lindos jardines.
ReplyDeleteChomp says, "Beautiful walk through beautiful gardens". Thanks!
DeleteThe beverages from the meal stalls were mostly sold out by 7pm. There were plenty of food stalls though across the road at the car park area. HRH Raja Permaisuri Agong also officiated the float parade at night.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the F&B stalls are doing a roaring business. At the garden bazaar, bougainvillea cultivars are being snapped up fast.
DeleteIt is simply amazing. I would love to go there one day. My head would be spinning with so much to see. Those bonsai and the bougainvillea and the orchids are stunning.
ReplyDeleteMissy, one day is not enough to cover everything. This year there will be lots of bougainvillea and orchids on display.
DeleteYou mean it is Floria time again! It seems so fast for time to pass. But when there are garden shows i am sure time seems to stand still. I love that bougainvillea you showed here, the growths of individual color are almost the same rate. It looks like most of us think at the same band, as the entrance to our previous exhibit in February is also a vertical garden like there! hahaha! My friends who attended the International Postharvest Symposium had their mid conference tour in Putrajaya but they didn't seem to have reported the garden show.
ReplyDeleteMy dear, how nice if we can attend the flower festival together!
DeleteVery pretty. That had to be a joy to go to.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
Yes, indeed a joy to go to!
DeleteHaha, hope your parents don't mind the flowers dropping off on the ground! I saw a booth which scatter bougainvillea flowers along the walkway like what we do to rose petals on the floor.
ReplyDeleteWow, colorful blooms showing the beauty of your country...thank you for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteHardinars, our countries share many plants in common.
Deletevery der beautiful tuuu.. ehhhee
ReplyDeleteHaji Mete, ya memang sangat cantik bunga-bunga yang dipamerkan.
DeleteAB, I envy you the time you had to explore Floria 2012. I did not have the luxury of exploring the gardens and displays as I had intended. Unfortunately, our schedule did not permit it. Maybe next year? This time we can plan ahead to meet.
ReplyDeleteFloria 2012 was a great learning experience for me. Hope the timing/schedulling next year will be better.
DeleteThe displays are gorgeous especially the vertical ones...this is one of the more beautiful floral shows I have seen.
