Family: Musaceae
Category: Ornamental banana
Origin: Sumatra, Indonesia

"A Wine Coloured Blood Banana and My Google Adsense, Nuffnang Money ”, a copyrighted post, was written for My Nice Garden blog by Autumn Belle @ http://www.mynicegarden.com/ on April 19th, 2011.

Musa zebrina is grown for its exotic variegated foliage. The leaves are dark green with wind red splotches on the top with a brown midrib. The underside is also wine red in colour. When grown on the ground, it can reach a height of 3 m but only 1.2 m in containers. The blooms are orange-red. This is a veyr attractive and exotic plant that can be used to enhance a poolside area or patio.

Note: the yellow blooms behind the Musa zebrina foliage in the picture above are those of another species, Musa lasiocarpa (lotus banana).

My Ads Earnings.
Last month, I have received my 2nd payment from Google Adsense. It is USD 113.99 = RM 341.60 for the 6 months period Sep 2010 to Feb 2011. My first cheque from Nuffnang is also on the way (within 30 days). It took more than one year to accumulate a meagre RM 100.00 from Nuffnang, of which RM 1.00 was deducted as transaction fee. It is obvious that Google Adsense pays me better!

Only a small amount of money but it makes me very happy, Yay!

My post about my first Google Adsense money is here.

  1. We also have some Blood Bananas in the farm. They're really doing well and very nice to look at. I will be posting more pics of ours in the near future.

Wow, so Google Adsense really works. $113+ is not bad at all. It just means you get plenty of traffic to your blog. Congratulations!

  5. Your banana is very pretty. I bet it is beautiful when in bloom. Thanks for posting your ads earnings. Very interesting. I know you get a lot of traffic. Less than $1/day, but still something to put in the cookie jar. Are you saving up for a rare plant with your earnings? That would be fun!

  12. Solitude Rising, you have this specie? Wow, they'll make your garden look nice.

    Lona, Holley Garden, One, Amy,
Google Adsense money is little but it is like a free gift/bonus to me because I'll get nothing if I don't insert the ads. It is a nice feeling. I can use this money to buy something or contribute to charity.

Sage Butterfly, I think the plantains will taste better and I wonder if this one can produce any nice fruits.

Giga, I'm glad you like our tropical flowers and so grateful for your frequent visits. Thanks a lot for the encouragement.

Diana, Plant Postings, this banana plant will look really nice beside the swimming pool, deck or patio. Even the leaves look like 'party-time' ;>)

Milka, do apply again to Google Adsense. I know that this happens to others too. They get approved after they reapply. Maybe the first time is Google's automatic method of screening out those unscrupulous content stealers or computer robots.

I'm going bananas this month. There are really many choices of beautiful bananas besides those that grows wild everywhere in our jungles and countryside. More bananas coming soon, hehehe!
