Hi Autumn Belle! Such vibrant colors! I am just going to admit it, I am jealous as can be! You have some stunners, here, so glad you shared them! Are these good cut flowers? Rosey
I like the white one! Thank you for posting these pictures. Sometimes I wonder how many kinds of hibiscus are there. I think there are many! and all so so beautiful!!
These hibiscus are the planted by the residents in my housing area. Yes, all of them and next to a ditch.
James, I do agree with you that these hybrids looks like roses, especially the bright red ones. Eventhough they lasts only for a day, there are many new blooms everyday to replace the spent ones. Isn't it great?
Rosey Pollen, we can pluck the flowers and stick them next to our ears just like the pretty Hawaiian maidens. However, it is not advisable to cut from the stalk because these flowers will drop off before the day's end. The plucked flowers can be used for floral baths and eaten as salads. Yes, the flower is edible!
Colorful hibiscus, but they dont last long like the bougainvilleas, luckily hibiscus are always growing and new blooms are coming when the old one falling.

These hibiscus are planted along a monsoon drain (ditch) at the edge of our neighbourhood. I think they are quite pretty, so do enjoy!

They are really pretty. I don't think I've seen such "fancy" ones before, thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteI really like these ones, they are huge and showy - almost as grand as roses, only thing is that they last only a day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there are a lot of butterflies, bees and sunbirds to visit these flowers. :)
I guess its a Bunga Raya season now for most Malaysian bloggers

Steph, I read from wikipedia that hibiscus are polyploids, therefore the hyrids may be endless.
ReplyDeleteJames, you are right, hibiscus flowers do attract quite a number of big and beautiful butterflies.
Lovely colours and congrates to the residents who palnted them all.
ReplyDeleteAutumn Belle your hibiscus are really gorgeous. Here on my island many of them have been attacked by disease and have died out.
ReplyDeleteA couple of these are very unique and just lovely.
