  3. Love your new blog style Autumnbelle. This is one grass I wish was hardy. I have tried to overwinter it in past years in the garage but it still succumbed to the cold winter temperatures. I agree its a lovely grass - especially your photos of it. They show the pink hues really well.

  10. Wow Autumn Belle you had a new gown, beautiful! The other one who has similar style of the blogsite, among those i've seen, is Bernie's of Australia. Great, i love it. But your photos are also getting better and better, that 1st shot is stunning, i wish i can get one like that. What focal lenght is that?

  11. Autumn your Purple Grass is so pretty. I confess I have none but I do like some of the colorful ones. If I only had room for all of the plants and shrubs I liked it would be so nice. The grasses look so god in the winter too when nothing else is standing in the gardens.
    Thanks for the dedication!

  13. I don't think we have these purple grass here. I might be wrong though. Do they grow wild or they can be grown in gardens? I have to admit, they are pretty to look at.

  14. There are usually masses of this in a shopping center of my neighborhood but they're looking puny after this winter, which is a shame! They provide such a nice color...

  15. I love this purple fountain grass! I have two of them in my garden and they grow without much care. Good garden staple! Your new background is beautiful.

  17. Hi, everyone. Thank you very much for the nice comments.

My first picture - This is how I feel. I see a beautiful lady flirting at me. She is very tempting and it is very difficult to keep my eyes off her.

Andrea, I am still an Olympus FE 4000 point and shoot camera, auto exposure and super macro view, no flash. That's the best camera I have at the moment.

New background - I'm using the templates from Blogger In Draft. Quite a number of different styles to choose from and quite flexible for changes in formats and designs. Do try it.

Purple fountain grass - In Malaysia, many of us have this idea that grases belong to the wild or the jungle, so many of us don't grow it at home. In the city lately, I have seen people growing it at Bridal and Wedding Photo studios. One or two people grow them in pots at home. I haven't seen this grass grown at botanical gardens or national parks yet.

  30. I'd love to have this grass in our garden. It's a better sight to look at than the wild grasses sprouting everywhere.

Does this have the tendency to become invasive and self-sow?

    ReplyDelete
  31. This grass is so colorful and special, movement adds so much to the garden-love it!

  37. Hi, everyone. Thank you very much for the nice comments for for liking my new blog look.

Solitude Rising, you asked a very good question. I googled and found that generally, fountain grass is considered a noxious weed in US parts of Africa and Australia. You need to check with the local authorities regarding the status of this species.

Rosey, yes I like ABBA's songs. I also enjoyed the show, Mama Mia staring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. It was like a sing-along hehe :)

Jacqueline, I'm not surprised you haven't seen this type of grass before. I rarely see it here too. I guess growing grass is still not popular here.

  38. The first photo of your fountain grass is especially breathtaking.
